Cupuaçu ya samo asali ne daga itace a cikin Amazon tare da sunan kimiyya na Theobroma grandiflorum, wanda ke cikin dangin koko kuma, sabili da haka, ɗayan samfuran sa shine cakulan cupuaçu, wanda aka fi sani da "cupulate".
Cupuaçu yana da ɗanɗano mai ɗanɗano, amma mai ɗanɗano mai sauƙi, kuma ana amfani da shi don yin juices, ice creams, jellies, giya da barasa. Bugu da kari, ana yin amfani da bagarren don yin kirim, puddings, pies, waina da pizzas.
